NO SPRAY COALITION WEBINAR APRIL 8

Removing Pesticides from Our Public Spaces

Thursday, April 8, 7 pm Central Time, 8 pm Eastern
A free, online event

Join us for this free, online webinar that will connect corporations (such as Bayer/Monsanto) that poison public spaces with pesticides, environmental racism and the people hurt by this system. Public areas such as parks, playgrounds and schoolyards are routinely sprayed with various chemicals to control insects and plants. Evidence has mounted showing that these chemicals damage human health. Pesticides tend to be used disproportionately in African American communities. These chemicals also have unintended consequences for humans, animals and plants. The webinar will explore the health concerns associated with pesticides, alternatives to their use, and most importantly, what communities have done to reduce the use of unhealthy chemicals.

Speakers:
Warren Porter, Toxicologist, University of Wisconsin, will talk about scientific evidence used in the Roundup-cancer trials.

Bertha Lewis, Executive Director of the Black Institute in Brooklyn NY, will present evidence of the overuse of pesticides in communities of color.

Em Ward, Green Party of Albuquerque Metro Area

Daniel Romano, St. Louis Green Party and No Spray St. Louis. He was blocked by the city while using Sunshine Requests to document herbicide usage in St. Louis parks.

Kent Rowe, Engineer and Toxicologist
